The Security 技术服务 Unit (STS) provides technological support and assistance to the Department of Public 安全 (DPS). STS is responsible for supporting University computer systems and systems specific to the operations of the Public 安全 Department. It is the mission of STS to provide the highest professional customer service to the Public 安全 Department as possible. Security 技术服务 also works with vendors to create the best solutions for the Public 安全 Department. STS works with vendors for quotes that give the department the best price possible, ensures vendors meet the standards set by ITS for data protection and application security, works with procurement and University Counsel to ensure the contracts best protect the University, create all purchase orders for the project quote, and schedules the installation of services and training for administrators and end users.

Security Technologies along with other departments can utilize access control systems to be able to control who can have access to buildings. A security review can be requested to the Physical Security Specialist to review door access protocol, 表演, 并安装门禁设备. A Security 技术服务 Division (STS) member will conduct a survey of the building or area to determine the need of the alarm system and the location of devices. For Installations and training for the alarm systems, STS will work with the vendor to define the best schedule. All alarm systems will first notify ODUPD Communications Center for dispatching the emergency services needed.

The University utilizes panic and duress buttons to provide safety for those in serious situations. The requesting department is responsible for testing the alarm system on a quarterly basis for proper functionality. All maintenance issues will be handled through STS by contacting them at pssecuritytechnologyservices@dilidally.net.

Security reviews are a process used to identify the historical, 当前的, and future security posture of area under review. Reviews will be completed using 社区 Policing Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and ASIS 国际 Guideline, 设施及保安措施, Asis GDL fpsm-2009. Those individuals that have successfully completed a Basic CPTED Certification course will conduct reviews.
